ההוא עניא דהוה מחזיר על הפתחים דאתא לקמיה דרב פפא לא מזדקיק ליה א"ל רב סמא בריה דרב ייבא לרב פפא אי מר לא מזדקיק ליה אינש אחרינא לא מזדקיק ליה לימות ליה והא תניא אם היה עני המחזיר על הפתחים אין נזקקין לו אמר ליה אין נזקקין לו למתנה מרובה אבל נזקקין לו למתנה מועטת
We have learnt in another place: The minimum to be given to a poor man who is on his way from one place to another is a loaf which costs a pundion when four se'ahs of wheat are sold for a <i>sela'</i>.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Such a loaf would contain half a kab of wheat.
