התם אינהו אפסידו אנפשייהו כיון דאיכא בעל לא איבעי להו למיזבן מאיתתא דיתבא תותי גברא:

In respect of the Jubilee year, the Rabbis gave him the status of an heir, in order [to prevent] loss to him.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' That he shall not be compelled to return what he inherited from his wife to her family. ');">⁹</span> In the case of [the statement of] R. Jose b. Hanina, the Rabbis gave him the status of a buyer [also] in order [to avert] loss to him.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' So that he shall be entitled to seize the property from anyone who bought it. ');">¹⁰</span>
