שברי לוחות שמונחים בארון ואי ס"ד ס"ת הקיפו ו' טפחים מכדי כל שיש בהקיפו שלשה טפחים יש בו רוחב טפח וכיון דלאמצעיתו נגלל נפיש ליה מתרי טפחא רווחא דביני ביני בתרי פושכי היכי יתיב
the fragments of the tables<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' The first tables which Moses broke. ');"><sup>1</sup></span> were [also] deposited in the ark. Now if we assume that the circumference of the scroll was six handbreadths, — let us see: a circumference of three handbreadths means a width of one.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' And therefore the scroll must have been two handbreadths wide.
