דתניא רבי שמעון בן יהודה אומר משום ר' שמעון

For it has been taught: R'Simeon, the son of R'Judah says in the name of R'Simeon: [The mixture of] meat and milk is forbidden to be eaten but it is permitted for general use since [Scripture says]: For thou art a holy people unto the Lord thy God.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Deut. XIV, 21, which is followed by the prohibition of seething a kid in its mother's milk.');"><sup>1</sup></span>
