כי פליגי היכא דמת האב בתוך שלשים יום רב חסדא אמר

all agree that the son is not obliged to redeem himself, for his father has acquired possession of his redemption [money].<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' For even if the father had set aside the five sela's, being a priest he could have taken them for himself. Since therefore his father acquired the redemption money he leaves it to his son, together with his other estate.');">⁴</span>
