Whenever such a case as this came before R'Johanan he would always send it to R'Judah son of R'Simeon, and the latter on the authority of R'Eleazar son of R'Simeon always ruled that it was permitted; though he [R'Johanan] himself did not hold that view'.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' He neither declared it permitted nor would he forbid it.');">²⁰</span>
