חצר מאי טעמא דאית ליה גיפופי והא זמנין דמשכחת לה איפכא

Now why [is this permitted in] the courtyard? [Is it on account of the fact] that it has ridges?<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' The remnants of the fallen wall, which, being situated on both sides of the gap that is not wider than ten cubits, form, according to the Rabbis, a kind of doorway.');"><sup>12</sup></span> Does it not, however, sometimes happen<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' When the karpaf is wider than the courtyard.');"><sup>13</sup></span>
