Commentary for Ketubot 208:11

אמר ליה טעמא מאי אמור רבנן כל זמן שהיא בבית בעלה גובה כתובתה לעולם דאמרינן משום כיסופא הוא דלא תבעה הכא נמי משום כיסופא הוא דלא תבעה זיל הב לה

He said to him, “What is the reason that the sages ruled, that ‘as long as she lives in her husband’s house [a widow] may recover her ketubah at any time’? Because we assume that she did not claim the ketubah in order [to save herself from] shame. Similarly here too she did not [previously] submit her claim in order [to save herself from] shame. Go and give her the ketubah.”
