אמר ליה רבא מאן דעסיק בתורה הוא דירית מאן דלא עסיק בתורה לא ירית אלא אמר רבא הכי קאמר בשביל שאני זכר וראוי לירש בנכסים מרובין הפסדתי בנכסים מועטין:

Rava said to him: One who is engaged in the study of the Torah inherits, while he who is not engaged in the study of the Torah does not inherit? Rather Rava said, This is what he mean: “Just because I am a male,” and entitled to inherit in the case of a large estate, I lose [my rights] in the case of a small estate?
