Commentary for Ketubot 81:10

Come and hear: What is the difference [in the case of compensation for damages] between a tam and a mu’ad? The tam pays half damages out of the value of its own body, while the mu’ad pays full damages out of the best of the [defendant’s] estate. But it does not teach that in the case of a tam no compensation is paid based on one’s own admission whereas in the case of a mu’ad he does pay based on his own admission?
