<big><strong>גמ׳</strong></big> טעמא דהשיאה וגרשה השיאה ונתארמלה אבל נתארמלה תרי זמני תו לא חזיא לאינסובי ואגב אורחיה קא סתים לן תנא כרבי דאמר בתרי זמני הויא חזקה:
GEMARA. The reason is that when he married her off and was divorced, [and then] married her off and she was widowed, but if she had been widowed twice she would not have been fit to marry again. And the tanna indirectly taught us like Rabbi, who said that if [a thing has happened] twice presumption is established.
