Thus if [the flesh of the offering] had remained overnight before the sprinkling of the blood, it does not convey food-uncleanness;<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' In this case the flesh of the sacrifice had never been permitted to be eaten, hence it is not regarded as a foodstuff.');"><sup>23</sup></span> but if [it had remained overnight] after the sprinkling of the blood,<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Accordingly the flesh was permitted to be eaten the same day after the sprinkling of the blood until midnight.');"><sup>24</sup></span>
