הדר איהו בעא מינייהו מהו לקמוץ מזה על זה צירוף דאורייתא או דרבנן

- He replied to them, [The rule is:] What stands in need of a vessel, the vessel unites; what does not stand in need of a vessel, the vessel does not unite.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' This extra half-tenth has no need of this vessel, and indeed could not be used together with the other halves in this vessel; consequently the other halves are not affected with uncleanness.');"><sup>9</sup></span> And what if a tebul yom inserted his finger between them?<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Without having touched either the vessel or its contents.');"><sup>10</sup></span>
