ואיתקש קטרת לנרות

Scripture saith, 'Aaron and his sons shall set it in order, to burn from evening to morning': 'it' [shall be] from evening to morning, but no other thing shall be from evening until morning;<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Hence nothing may come after the kindling of the lights, and consequently the slaughtering of the Passover offering must take precedence.');">⁵</span> and [the burning of] the incense is likened to [the kindling of] the lights.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Just as no service after the former is valid, so is no service valid after the latter.');">⁶</span>
