בשני מה היו אומרים (תהלים מח, ב) גדול ה' ומהולל מאד על שם שחילק מעשיו ומלך עליהן

[The one commencing], Great is the Lord and highly to be praised,<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Ps. XLVIII, 2.');"><sup>5</sup></span> because he divided His works<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' I.e., the upper and lower worlds.');"><sup>6</sup></span> and reigned over them like a king.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' This apparently means, reigned over the lower world from the heavens, referred to in the psalm as 'beautiful in elevation in the city of a great king'.
