ואי איתא לימא ליה טועה בדבר משנה אתה וטועה בדבר משנה חוזר

the Physician stated that no cow or sow was allowed to leave Alexandria in Egypt unless her womb had first been cut out, so as to prevent her from having issue.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' The Egyptian breed was unique in its quality, and so they took this measure in order to limit its breeding to that country. Such a mutilation did not, however, affect them. ');"><sup>17</sup></span> Thereupon R. Tarfon exclaimed: Thy ass is gone, Tarfon!<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' I.e., shall now have to sell my ass to compensate the owner of the cow for my erroneous decision! ');"><sup>18</sup></span>
