אלא ויהי נא פי שנים היכי משכחת לה דאחייא א"ל רבי יוחנן שריפא צרעת נעמן שהיא שקולה כמת דכתיב (במדבר יב, יב) אל נא תהי כמת
We may infer therefore fromthis that the funeral rites are in honour of thedead.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' For otherwise why should any such disgrace have an atoning effect? ');"><sup>15</sup></span> This proves it.
