אלא כל מידי דאית ביה תענוג ואית ביה שמחה גזרו רבנן אבל מידי דאית ביה תענוג ולית ביה שמחה לא גזרו רבנן:

Now if you say [that the prophet's objection] is on account of its being a luxury,<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' The people, by setting their minds on such things, disregarded the essentials, viz., the teachings of the prophets. ');">⁹</span>
