תנו רבנן (ויקרא כד, טו) איש [איש] כי יקלל אלהיו ונשא חטאו מה ת"ל והלא כבר נאמר (ויקרא כד, טז) ונקב שם ה' מות יומת יכול לא יהא חייב אלא על שם המיוחד בלבד מנין לרבות את הכינויין תלמוד לומר איש איש כי יקלל אלהיו וגו' מכל מקום דברי רבי מאיר וחכמים אומרים על שם מיוחד במיתה ועל הכינויין באזהרה:
Granted, 'No' is an oath, as it is written: And the wate shall no more become a flood;<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Gen. IX, 15.');"><sup>24</sup></span> and it is written: For this is as the waters of Noah unto Me; for as I have sworn [that the waters of Noah should no more go over the earth.].<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Isa. LIV, 9.');"><sup>25</sup></span>
