אמר לך רב מנשה אנא דאמרי אפילו לרבנן וטעמא דרבנן הכא כדרבא דאמר רבא אדם קרוב אצל עצמו ואין אדם משים עצמו רשע
would it then be necessary to assume that R. Manasseh holds the same opinion as R.
