ואי אשמועינן הכא אדרבה תרווייהו מוכחי אהדדי אבל אידך לא צריכא:

-It might have been thought that such provision<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' The permission to marry the sister of his zekukah. ');">⁹</span> was made by the Rabbis for the sake of the precept,<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Of the levirate marriage. In order that this precept may be fulfilled they may have removed the prohibition of the marital bond, which is only Rabbinical, in cases where the woman is not forbidden by the law of incest but by virtue of a commandment only.
