Jose] derived his argument from one lacking atonement and [he] did not raise this objection.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' I.e., that one lacking atonement is different since he may be a primary source of defilement. The reason R. Jose did not raise this objection is evidently because he is no longer regarded as unclean, and the same applies to a tebul yom. Consequently R.
