Musar for Berakhot 16:3

וכי בתשעה מתענין והלא בעשרה מתענין אלא לומר לך כל האוכל ושותה בתשיעי מעלה עליו הכתוב כאילו מתענה תשיעי ועשירי.

Surely it is on the tenth that we fast ! But the intention is to tell thee that whoever eats and drinks on the ninth, the Scriptures ascribe it to him as though he fasted on the ninth and tenth.
