בן סירא אומר אף לילות בשפל גגים גגו ובמרום הרים כרמו ממטר גגים לגגו ומעפר כרמו לכרמים:

Ben Sira said: The nights also. Lower than [all] roofs is his roof, and on the height of mountains is his vineyard. The rain of [other] roofs [pours down] on his roof and the earth of his vineyard [is washed down] into the vineyards [of others].
