Surely it is derived from the verse, From the liquor of Israel,<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Ezek. XLV, 15; v. supra p. 20.');">¹⁸</span> that is, from that which is permitted to Israel; or from the verse, Whatsoever passeth under the rod,<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Lev. XXVII, 32, with reference to the Cattle Tithe, but the rule that is here derived is applied to all sacrifices; cf. Bek. 57a.');">¹⁹</span>
