מיתיבי יכול יהא נאכל אור לשלישי ודין הוא זבחים נאכלים ליום אחד ושלמים נאכלים לשני ימים מה להלן לילה אחר היום אף כאן לילה אחר היום

An objection is raised: one might think that it<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Sc. the flesh of a peace-offering.');">³</span> may be eaten on the evening ['or'] of the third day [from sacrifice], and it is logical: Sacrifices<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Viz. the thanksoffering.');">⁴</span> are eaten on one day,<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' I.e., only on the day they are brought.');">⁵</span> while peace-offerings are eaten on two days: just as there the night follows the day,<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' The thanksoffering may be eaten during the night following the day in which it is sacrificed.');">⁶</span>
