אמר ר' יוחנן זאת אומרת כלי שרת אין מקדשין אלא מדעת

- R'Johanan said, This proves that vessels of ministry hallow only [what has been put into them] intentionally.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' In order to become hallowed. In this case, however, the unfit person puts the handful back again into the vessel out of which it was taken without intending it to become holy thereby.');">³</span> It follows, however, that they do hallow [what has been put into them] intentionally.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Even though it had been put in by a non-priest or by any other person that was unfit.');">⁴</span>
