תניא רבי יהודה אומר משום ר"ע בראשון מה היו אומרים (תהלים כד, א) לה' הארץ ומלואה על שם שקנה והקנה ושליט בעולמו

because He took possession and gave possession<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' To the sons of men (Rashi) , cf. Ps. CXV, 16.
