Rabbi’s handmaiden went up to the roof and prayed: “Those above [in the heavens] want Rabbi [to join them] and those below want Rabbi [to remain with them]; may it be the will [of God] that those below overpower those above.” When she saw how often he had to go to the toilet, and he would have to remove his tefillin and put them back on again and this caused him distress she prayed: “May it be the will [of God] that those above should overcome those below.”
