מתקיף לה רב מרי ממאי דבמזיד ונקה מקטלא דלמא בשוגג ונקה מגלות קשיא:

Mari raised a difficulty: From where [do you know] that he struck him intentionally, and he is cleansed from execution. Perhaps he struck him unintentionally, and he is cleansed from exile. The difficulty remains.
