אמרו לו ולואי שנצא בעצמנו משל לאדם שהיה חבוש בבית האסורים והיו אומרים לו בני אדם מוציאין אותך למחר מבית האסורין ונותנין לך ממון הרבה ואומר להם בבקשה מכם הוציאוני היום ואיני מבקש כלום:

They answered Moses, "Would that we could escape with our lives!" A Parable: [It may be likened] to a man who was imprisoned in a dungeon, and people came to tell him, "To-morrow thou wilt be released from the dungeon and be presented with a large sum of money." He replies to them, "I beg of you to release me to-day, and I ask for nothing more."
