אמר רבי ינאי שמעתי שמקילין בה ושמעתי שמחמירין בה וכל המחמיר בה על עצמו מאריכין לו ימיו ושנותיו
R. Jannai said : I have heard that some take a lenient view and others a stricter view ; but whoever applies the stricter rule to himself, his days and years will be prolonged for him.

By allowing the Ba'al Keri to be clean after nine kabs of water had been poured over him. The stricter view demanded complete immersion in a bath containing a minimum of forty Saot.
