וכדרבי יונתן דר' יונתן רמי כתיב (דברים כג, יג) ויד תהיה לך מחוץ למחנה ויצאת שמה חוץ וכתיב (דברים כג, יד) ויתד תהיה לך וגו' וכסית את צאתך

R. Jonathan who asked : It is written "Thou shalt have a place also without the camp, whither thou shalt go forth abroad" (Deut. xxiii. 13) and it continues, "And thou shalt have a paddle among thy weapons ; and it shall be when thou sittest down abroad, thou shalt dig therewith, and shalt turn back and cover that which cometh from thee" (ibid. 5:14) —
