Commentary for Berakhot 56:2

The Halakah is in accord neither with Rab Huna nor R. Joshua b. Levi. [It is not] in accord with Rab Huna, as is here mentioned. [Nor is it] in accord with R. Joshua b. Levi who said : When the time of the afternoon Tefillah has arrived, it is forbidden to eat anything before praying the afternoon Tefillah.

Tosafot on Berakhot

ONCE THE TIME [TO RECITE] THE AFTERNOON PRAYER HAS ARRIVED, A PERSON MAY NOT TASTE ANYTHING ETC. And R’ Yehoshua ben Laivee is of the opinion that as soon as the time for minchoh arrives we must even stop eating. And it is not so. We do not follow R’ Yehoshua ben Laivee in this matter.1See Tosfos Shabos 9b matter. ד'ה בתספורת for a different opinion on this matter.
