אמר רב גידל אמר רב האי סמלק מברכין עלויה בורא עצי בשמים אמר רב חננאל אמר רב הני חלפי דימא מברכין עלייהו בורא עצי בשמים אמר מר זוטרא מאי קראה (יהושע ב, ו) והיא העלתם הגגה ותטמנם בפשתי העץ
Rab Giddel said in the name of Rab : Over jasmine the benediction is "...Who createst fragrant woods." Rab Hananel said in the name of Rab: Over sea-rush the benediction is "...Who createst fragrant woods." Mar Zotra said : What is the Scriptural authority? "She had brought them up to the roof, and hid them with the stalks of flax" (Josh. ii. 6).
