לא אמרו בה איסור משום כבודן דרבנן לא היתר משום כבודו דרבי אליעזר
They did not, forbid it in deference to the view of the Rabbis,<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' I.e., the first Tanna of our Mishnah, who does not hold the view that the thoughts of an idolater are usually directed towards idolatry.
