Commentary for Ketubot 111:9

אלא חופה קשיא חופה נמי לא קשיא כיון דסתם חופה לביאה קיימא אורח ארעא קא משמע לן דבלילה

But if it is huppah [that acquires] this is difficult. [The assumption that acquisition is effected in the] huppah also presents no difficulty. Since, usually, the huppah is a prelude to intercourse he taught us that it was proper that [it should be entered] at night.
