דרש רבי יהודה איש כפר נביריא ואמרי לה איש כפר נפור חיל מנין שאין פוסקין יינות לאשה שנאמר (שמואל א א, ט) ותקם חנה אחרי אכלה בשילה ואחרי שתה שתה ולא שתת

Judah of Kefar Nabirya (others say: of Kefar Napor Hayil) made the following exposition: From where is it derived that they do not allot wine to a woman? As it is said, “So Hannah rose up after she had eaten in Shiloh, and after drinking” (I Samuel 1:9). Only “he drank” but she did not drink.
