וכי אמר הכי לאו שליחותיה קעביד והתנן מי שהיה מושלך בבור ואמר כל השומע קולו יכתוב גט לאשתו הרי אלו יכתבו ויתנו

But even if be spoke in such a manner, is the steward not performing his agency? Have we not learned: If a man who was thrown into a pit cried “Whoever should hear his voice should write a bill of divorce for his wife,” [the hearers] may write, and deliver [it to his wife]?
