GEMARA. Rav Judah recited: [The mishnah reads] “have arisen”; Hiyya b. Rav said: [It reads] “were.” He who taught “have risen” [holds that the ruling applies] all the more so [where the defects] “were” for she was aware of them and accepted them. But the one who taught “were’ [holds that the ruling does] not [apply where the defects] “have arisen.”
