אמר ליה אביי וכל היכא דאמור רבנן לא ליזבין אע"ג דזבין לא הוה זביניה זביני והתנן בית שמאי אומרים תמכור ובית הלל אומרים לא תמכור אלו ואלו מודים שאם מכרה ונתנה קיים שלחוה לקמיה דר' חנינא בר פפי שלחה כדרב יוסף

Abaye said to him: And anywhere the rabbis ruled that one must not sell, even if he sold it, the sale is invalid? But did we not teach: Beth Shammai said: She may sell it, and Beth Hillel said, She may not sell it; but both agree that if she had sold it or given it away her act is legally valid? The case was sent to R. Hanina b. Papi who sent [the same reply] as that of R. Joseph.
