אמר אביי האי צורבא מרבנן דמרחמין ליה בני מתא לאו משום דמעלי טפי אלא משום דלא מוכח להו במילי דשמיא

Abaye said: This scholar who is loved by the townspeople, it is not because he is great, rather it is because he does not rebuke them with matters of heaven.
