Commentary for Ketubot 36:7

תנו רבנן אין נאמנים לפוסלו דברי רבי מאיר וחכמים אומרים נאמנים בשלמא לרבנן כי טעמייהו שהפה שאסר הוא הפה שהתיר אלא לר' מאיר מ"ט בשלמא פסולי עדות מלוה גופיה מעיקרא מידק דייק ומחתם קטנים נמי כדרשב"ל דאמר ריש לקיש

They are not believed to disqualify it, the words of R. Meir. But the Sages say [that] they are believed. This goes well according to the rabbis, who follow their reasoning, “the mouth that prohibits is the mouth that permits,” but what is the reason of R. Meir? It works [with regard to] those disqualified from testifying [because] the creditor himself checks beforehand and [then] he signs. With regard to] “minors” also [it can be explained] according to R. Shimon ben Lakish. for Resh Lakish said:
