Commentary for Ketubot 73:8

שנא' (שמות כא, כב) ולא יהיה אסון ענוש יענש וכו': והא מהכא נפקא מהתם נפקא (דברים כה, ב) כדי רשעתו משום רשעה אחת אתה מחייבו ואי אתה מחייבו משום שתי רשעיות

For it says, “And if no harm follows he shall be surely fined” (Exodus 21:22). Is the deduction made from this text? Is it not in fact made from the following text: “According to the wickedness of his crime,” (Deuteronomy 25:2) [which implies] you make him liable for one wickedness but you do not make him liable for two wickednesses”?
