קטב מרירי תרי קטבי הוו חד מקמי טיהרא וחד מבתר טיהרא דמקמי טיהרא קטב מרירי שמו ומיחזי בי כדא דכמכא והדר ביה בחשא דבתר טיהרא (תהלים צא, ו) קטב ישוד צהרים שמו ומיחזי בי קרנא דעיזא והדר ביה כנפיא
on it [the tree]<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Jast. Perhaps: they danced in chorus about it.');"><sup>11</sup></span> and sing thus: 'The man's turban is like a scholar's, [yet] we have examined the man [and find] that he does not know "Blessed art Thou".'<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' He does not know which benediction to recite when he puts it on ridiculed his pretentions to scholarship.');"><sup>12</sup></span> Then a certain scholar came who knew that it was a sorb-bush of sixty demons and wrote a sixty-demon amulet for it. Then he heard them saying, 'Clear away your vessels from here.'
