ממאי דלמא תרוייהו בתשע אוליד ובת שבע אולידא בשית משום דאתתא בריא תדע דהא הוי לה ולד מעיקרא

— But it is deduced from the following: Now these are the generations of Terah: Terah begat Abram, Nahor and Haran.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Gen. XI, 27. ');">¹⁹</span> Now Abraham must have been [at least] one year older than Nahor, and Nahor one year older than Haran;<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' On the assumption that they are stated according to seniority.
