אלא מהכא (בראשית יא, כז) אלה תולדות תרח תרח הוליד את אברם את נחור ואת הרן ואברהם גדול מנחור שנה ונחור גדול מהרן שנה נמצא אברהם גדול שתי שנים מהרן וכתיב (בראשית יא, כט) ויקח אברם ונחור להם נשים וגו'

hence Abraham was two years older that Haran. And it is written, And Abram and Nahor took them wives: the name of Abram's wife was Sarai,' and the name of Nahor's wife Milcah, the daughter of Horan, the father of Milcah, and the father of Iscah.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Ibid. 29. ');"><sup>21</sup></span> Whereon R. Isaac observed: Iscah was Sarai, and why was she called Iscah? Because she foresaw [the future] by holy inspiration;<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' [H] is derived from the Aramaic root [H] to gaze, to look.] ');"><sup>22</sup></span>
