א"ל קיסר לר' יהושע בן חנניה מ"ט לא אתית לבי אבידן א"ל טור תלג סחרוני גלידין כלבוהי לא נבחין טחנוהי לא טוחנין בי רב אמרי אדלא אבידנא בחישנא
'The mountain is snowy, it is surrounded by ice,<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Lit., 'its surroundings are ice'. ');"><sup>6</sup></span> the dog does not bark and the grinders do not grind,' he replied.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' My head is snowy white, my beard likewise, my voice feeble and my teeth do not function. — I am too old to attend. ');"><sup>7</sup></span> The School of Rab was wont to say: 'What I did not lose I seek.'<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' This was their description of old age. One goes about bent and stooping, appearing to seek an article which he has not lost. ');"><sup>8</sup></span>
