אמר ר"ל מאי דכתיב (ישעיהו לג, ו) והיה אמונת עתיך חוסן ישועות חכמת ודעת וגו' אמונת זה סדר זרעים עתיך זה סדר מועד חוסן זה סדר נשים ישועות זה סדר נזיקין חכמת זה סדר קדשים ודעת זה סדר טהרות ואפ"ה (ישעיהו לג, ו) יראת ה' היא אוצרו

He went and read. When he came to, and the stranger that cometh nigh shall be put to death,<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Num. I, 51. ');">¹⁷</span> he asked him, 'To whom does this verse apply?' 'Even to David King, of Israel,' was the answer. Thereupon that proselyte reasoned within himself <i>a fortiori</i>: if Israel, who are called sons of the Omnipresent,<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Deut. XIV, 11. ');">¹⁸</span>
