אבל מה אעשה לך שאתה מתחטא לפני המקום ועושה לך רצונך כבן שמתחטא על אביו ועושה לו רצונו ואומר לו אבא הוליכני לרחצני בחמין שטפני בצונן תן לי אגוזים שקדים אפרסקים ורמונים ונותן לו ועליך הכתוב אומר (משלי כג, כה) ישמח אביך ואמך ותגל יולדתך
Of you Scripture says, Let thy father and thy mother be glad, and let her that bore thee rejoice.<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Prov. XXIII, 25.');"><sup>7</sup></span> Our Rabbis have taught: What was the message that the Sanhedrin<span class="x" onmousemove="('comment',' Lit., 'the Men of the Hall of Hewn Stone'. The Sanhedrin met in the Hall of Hewn Stone.');"><sup>8</sup></span> sent to Honi the Circle-Drawer?

Mitchateh (Nag): It is an expression of sin; meaning that he was continuing to sin.

As you mitchateh (nag) before the Omnipresent, etc.: Rashi explained [it as being] from an expression of sin. But Arukh explained it as something else, see there.
